Study Mechatronics and Chemical Engineering in Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA)

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has authorized two new academic programmes for the Federal University of Technology, Akure, following a resource verification exercise undertaken by teams of experts it deployed to the university lately.

Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering are the two programs.

Professor Joseph Fuwape, Vice Chancellor, and Dr. N. B. Saliu, Director of Academic Planning at the NUC, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Abubakar Rasheed, wrote:

From the information related to Latest School News today, “The Vice Chancellor is happy to note that panels of experts conducted a resource validation visit to prospective academic programs in Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, in order to examine the human and material resources readily accessible for its development.”

“I am instructed to advise the Vice Chancellor that the Executive Secretary has examined and authorized the full-time mode of the following undergraduate programs, which will be offered on the university’s main campus beginning in the 2021/2022 academic session: 1. Mechatronics Engineering B.Eng., 2. Chemical Engineering B.Eng.

“All programs must use only the titles and nomenclatures approved by the Commission, and any changes must be granted by the Commission.”

“The university is required to offer sufficient human and material resources for the creation and expansion of recognized programs.”

Professor Joseph Fuwape, FUTA’s Vice Chancellor, demonstrated his joy at the new development, saying it has furthermore reaffirmed the university’s capacity to develop and grow competence in teaching and training future generations of professionals in the two sectors.

He urged applicants to take advantage of the new programs’ opportunities, saying the FUTA will prove the NUC’s faith in it.
