The incident was unfortunate, according to Ogunmodede, who also stated that the federal government will not give a single inch of the university’s territory to anyone.

He said that the freshly finished hostel in the axis where the land grabbers sought to claim could not be occupied by students since the land grabbers posed a threat to the students’ safety.

According to the VC,

I don’t want any of our students to drop down.

We are short on housing for our students, but it is not worth risking their lives.

As you can see, God is the only one who has saved us today. You can witness the gunshots and other incidents, but we are grateful that we all survived.

We’ll do everything we can to keep the peace because the university wouldn’t be able to function without the community.

We shall do everything we can to maintain a flawless understanding with the community.

We’ve been doing it for a while now. We’ve been successful for many years and will continue to do so.

As you can see, we are in a pretty bad situation in terms of OAU land.”
